Neon Reef switch to British Gas

I was switched to BG from the failed Neon Reef energy provider and was on the welcome to BG variable tariff with a price guarantee to end July 2022. Although BG’s tariff was more expensive the price guarantee was attractive so I felt comfortable with this until in March when BG emailed to advise of a price hike from April 2022. After making enquiries with BG it became apparent that the initial price guarantee was non existent so I complained to the ombudsman who agreed that BG should have honoured its contracted price pledge. Result, compensation and also compensation for the unsatisfactory BG complaints handling experience. I would urge any Neon Reef customers to make complaints to the ombudsman in view of this decision. Good luck!
