Good advice so far, I just wanted to add that changing the height of the sofa feet can invalidate the manufacturer's warranty - or at least, many companies will claim that it does so.

Thank you so much for all the information, I have logged another complaint and am waiting their response! Fingers crossed, I will update once I have spoken to them again.

Did you sit on the “upgraded” foam option in the store at all or did you sit on the fibre and get “upsold”
I work in furniture retail and have just checked our shop, what tends to happen is the foam is a little bit lower than the fibre option as foam doesn’t tend to sink where as the fibre does over time.So if you have bought a foam interior after sitting on a “brand new” fibre sofa it could easily explain most of the difference with “tolerances” making up the other few cms.Tbf I never even thought about this so will be mentioning it in future, we tend to have the chair in foam and the rest in fibre though
Dunno when we are meant to mention tolerances in the sale conversation though, I have never been told about tolerances on any big purchase I have made. The colour of the fabric can be slightly different to display due to colour batches, the feet could be a slightly different colour due to colour batches.Back cushions could be a little taller or shorter, could be a little wider or narrower, bottom cushions could be a little taller, a little deeper, a little firmer a little softer. It’s a hand made piece of furniture it’s unrealistic to expect all tolerances to be mentioned at time of purchase, although a 15cm tolerance is genuinely insane and must be misquoted by the person on the phone1
