wax / polish / oil for vintage table ?

I used to work for a furniture maker and they sold Briwax in the shop.
I was lucky enough to be given a dented tin that couldn't be sold and it was really good.
I also use Johnsons lavender wax, cheaper and lovely fragrance. I use it for waxing drawer runners so as you open and close it's not only a good slide but a little waft of lavender for some time.
Occasionally I clean the wood, waxed and varnished, with Sheritons wood restorer. Works like wax but easier to apply. It's a mix of oil, turps and soft wax, an old formula people used to make up. It cleans off the dirt and old opaque polish leaving it gleaming.

They used to sell it in Tesco but things keep changing. I get mine from a local hardware store
If i could only have one thing this would be it.
With a wax finish it can mark with heat and water can get under the wax and mark it so only have careful people to dinner
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
