Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.It's not a bad morning here, not quite sunny, but the potential is there,I went shopping yesterday to a small centre near here. It was a change, I enjoyed the look round . I bought a pair of chinos in N*xt, and some pyjama shorts in Sains. Also met someone I used to work with years ago and we had a long chat and a good laugh.DH is keen to go to Alnwick G*rdens today, I know it seems that we're always going there, but we like to see the changes month by month, and it's nice to look round the town.Hope everyone is ok, and has a good day today.Take care folks.12

Morning folks. After the heat of yesterday today is much cooler. I did my legal business first and the spent a pleasant half hour choosing a new fragrance. My usual perfume is far too heavy for hot summer days so I wandered into the Jo Malone shop. The assistant worked hard with me, bringing out loads of bits of paper and spraying them for me. Eventually I decided on one which I'm happy with. Then I went to the cinema to see Bullet Train. It's been panned by critics in almost every review, however I enjoyed it. It's not high film art but it's a weird mix of frothy nonsensical comedy and extreme stylised violence. I enjoyed it, maybe the glass of wine I had during it helped. 😀
Today I've not got anything planned for this morning and then have a medical appointment at 4.30p.m. I may try for the art exhibition again, not sure yet.Scarlet - all those changes at the gardens are well worth seeing. That's the real beauty of such places. Enjoy yourselves.I hope that everyone is doing well. Happy Friday to all.

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. No sun as yet this morning but it is forecast and it's still mild. That dratted wind got up again yesterday and it felt chilly in it but warm out of it.
The shopping trip was worth it for DD, she got loads of buffet and bbq type stuff for the birthday gathering tomorrow. I was more restrained but still got quite a few bargains.
I have the usual Friday Tidy this morning and more Games watching in among to slow me down! Tonight I am off to a concert! The girls have been at their dance summer school all week so tonight is to highlight all they have been learning. I will have my tissues at the ready as usual!!
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies and fed up. Take care one and all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
Morning All
I'm back from my trip down south, Aunt was very happy to see me and I got quite a few jobs done for her whilst I was there. She has recently given up driving and given her car away so I cleaned the garage floor for her and moved a few things from the house to the garage. The drive home was very good, no traffic hold ups at all, even Glasgow was a clear run which is very unusual.
I've got the bedding from the visitors on the line and will have a tidy up later, I feel like there's been no housework done for ages! Must visit the allotment to pick peas and courgettes and see how everything else is coming along. I'm sure the onions are just about ready to lift so will have to clear a space in the greenhouse to get them dried.
Hope you're recovering Mehefin, sounds like a bit of a nightmare.
Enjoy your visit to Alnwick Scarlet, somewhere I still haven't visited!
Glad you enjoyed the film Gers.
Have a good Friday, take care. XX11 -
Morning everyone and thanks for the start nmlc x
Bright sunny start here so I've a wash load on which I'll peg out shortly. I'm going into London today to meet a contact of my boss who's looking for a PA. I'm going to be loaned to her for 1 day a week for 3 months to assist her with getting someone in. I'm meeting my niece afterwards for lunch at Stratford Westfield - I've not been before but expect it'll be busy.
We've booked to see Bullet Train tomorrow night - glad you enjoyed it @Gers. Not sure it's my kind of movie but sure DH will enjoy it.
More painting of woodwork in store this weekend and we will go shopping for wallpaper plus visit C0stco at Lakeside. The fun never stops lol.
Have a good day everyone,

Morning all, thanks nmlcI was busy all day yesterday with the DGC so didn't get chance to post, but caught up late last night. First we went to town to spend a credit note, something I got for DGD that didn't fit. She got 3 T shirts & I made up the balance by getting a pair of black pants, next size down yipee! On to Primark, DGS refused the offer of clothes but picked some shoes. He was more interested in buying a sausage roll from his fave bakery
Back home on the bus. DH had offered to take and pick up, but no they wanted to go on the bus, bit of a novelty for them I suppose. In the afternoon we went to the park to go on the inflateables and buy ice cream. Tonight I'm going to stay at DS2's to mind them , he's on a rare night out with DS1. I made a shepherds pie before we went out so just had to reheat when I got home.
I had a T delivery before the Children arrived- could have sworn it was todaysome odd subs, some working in my favour! Bella you are right about the prices & I had fewer crates than usual. I like JM Gers, bit pricey now for me- my niece used to get a staff discount and get it for me.TA enjoy tonight, don't cry too much.Enjoy Alnwick Scarlet, & glad you enjoyed your trip Camelot.
Mehefin, hope you're all recovering, sounds scary.Izzy, hope you're happy with your haircut and decide what to do for the wedding style.Right need to do the usual Friday admin for DH, better go so hope you all have a good day x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning from sunny Mehefinland
Starting to comedown to earth after Monday's escapade and know how close we came to being seriously hurt. My leg has scabbed over now but is extremely painful. Mrs M says I am walking like a baby with a filled nappy. Gross! Everything takes twice as long to do. Putting shoes and socks on is a challenge, as is getting up and down from a chair/bed/whatever.
Trying to keep moving as when I sit still the area stiffens up and is agony to get going again. I know it could have been much much worse, and quite honestly has given us both a severe fright. In all the years of having horses this is the most serious event we have suffered, although Scoobymare did manage to kick me in the head many years ago ( hence my harry Potter scar).
As DS has left home there is nobody to assist with the daily chores so we just muddle on until things improve.
No major damage to the pony thankfully, but he is very wary of us at the moment. Food will be the key no doubt!!
Hugs and Spoons as always
Mehefin

Morning all..Sunny! Ended up going out to get some metal buttons for the dungarees, also went to a local shop of many things and bought a couple of clear tubs for the boot to keep everything contained and neat. Made [ hemmed and shortened] two lots of nets for the bay windows, the cats had scratched the other ones ot bits and they were deifnitely past their best. One has been cut down for use in the kitchen [another one past it's best] . Today is just sewing, I've taken the band off the dungarees and am now extracting elastic from a cs dress bought yesterday. I'll work my way through my sewing jobs over the weekend. Am girding my loins for heatwave prep for next week too.Scarlet, enjoy your day out, if I had something like that near me I'd go every week
Izzy hope you and your hairdresser will find something you love..TA, enjoy the teary show! Nanny, I know deadheading=more flowers, but I got confused when you said geranium as to whether it was the hardy type or the big blousy flower head type, because I have mostly the big blousy flowerhead type and once the heads look a bit ropey, I snap them off and it keeps putting new ones out for continuus flowering...Gers, I'm intending to go see it now I've discovered I have meerkat movies [ bought the travel insurance through them...didnt realise until my friend was talking about and I thought, hang on, I'm sure I did that...doh!] . Anyway, enough rambling, this has been sat here for an hour at least while i kept getting distracted...Have a great day folks and if not, have some hugs instead...no otuching though, air hugs...:)
