Buying a house before and after Help To Buy

Hi all,

Question for those who've bought in the pre- and post-Help To Buy era....

I'm from elsewhere but I've lived in the UK, in London, the last 3 years. I've rented the whole time.

I'm looking to buy, which in my case would require Help To Buy. Considering the time it takes, if the deal doesn't come together before H2B ends, should I expect house prices to fall somewhat, based on what prices did when the scheme started?

New build house prices will fall, I think it only applied to them.
  • Sounds plausible. Tho I can't imagine that a flat that I would buy for 250k (after H2B) but which lists for 450k right now would drop 200k, which is the point where I can afford it. Guess I better try to get one in while it's still running.
