I'd also like to apologise for this disgusting 'boast' about accidentally getting £20 out of Natwest. Boy do I go on about it. And it's about getting one over on the 'little guy' of Natwest, too. The worst of all boasts.I don't know if many of you felt the need to pay in £50 or £150 or whatever slowly, monthly and wait to accumulate the full £1000 as many people were saying you had to do when this account was first offered, but I simply dumped £1000 straight in and have been getting the full interest on it from day one...
I know it is just semantics but I wouldn't say disgusting. Perhaps amusing or fascinating.
It does though remind me of another bank accident that happened to me. I once switched bank accounts and got a £175 switching bonus. Then two days later they paid me another £175.
This was followed by an email admitting their mistake but saying not to worry and that I could keep it.

Ok, ok no need to boast about swindling your bank out of £155 more than I have. I think you probably should have put the £175 in an envelope and posted it back through your local branch letterbox.0

No-one cares if you got £20 or not.
The point is that now you cannot put £1000 in one day one - they will either return the overpayment or close your accounts, hence it's bad advice to suggest doing it or even talk about the fact that you got lucky on an exploit that is now closed.2 -

I can read between the lines too. You're someone who exploits loopholes. Someone who reads between the lines. But never a rule breaker. Those rules about closing all of your accounts and repeatedly doing something once must *never* be broken. Those rules you've made up in your head. You're a wheeler dealer and losing £20 is going to be painful even if you can't admit it here. I'm sympathetic. Don't worry, your secret is safe with me.

Thank you2 -
I care that you're giving out false and potentially damaging information
Potentially damaging to anyone with a time machine.

Watch your backs people. I know, I know Doc Brown used time travel to remember to wear a bullet proof vest but when it comes to banking - just leave things as they are / were.
