Dell Dimension 1100 in "power save mode" after memory upgrade0

Hello,
I have just installed two RAM cards as an upgrade to my Dell Dimenson 1100 pc.
Unfortunately, when I press the power button on the tower, the system seems to boot up as normal inside but the power light on the front remains amber instead of going green.
The same is the case for the monitor- the power light on the front remains amber instead of going green. On pressing another button on the monitor, a message appears: "In power save mode. Press any key on keyboard or move mouse".
Unfortunately, there appears to be a problem as the mouse and keyboard do not appear to be live (I have checked the mouse and the mouse USB jack are working by plugging in someone else's mouse- it became live- and plugging my mouse into someone else's pc- it worked).
This is obviously a problem as I can't get the pc out of "power save mode" because the mouse and keyboard can't be used!
Does anyone have any helpful advice or suggestions as to what might be wrong?
Thank you in advance?
Scotty

Check the ram is seated properly, if so, remove it, and put the old stuff back.
It's not in power save mode, it's in won't boot mode.
Did you check the compatibility of the ram with your machine?Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
Also, try one of them at a time, one may be faulty. I had that problem with a laptop recently.0
