Thanks I might try that.
im just getting used to it so going to put a whole chicken in tomorrow and see how that works - I do think it’s a lot of trial and error but I’m happy to keep playing around with it. Anything that keeps the oven off!Living the simple life0 -
I just got the Ninja 11 in 1, I absolutely love it. I made the recipes in the book for potato wedges and lamb with couscous, both came out perfect. I've found pressure cooker recipes online and they have been great too, just make sure you have enough liquids. Fries and burgers were perfect although I had to guess a little the timings. I didn't do so well with steaming veg and steam frying salmon but will try again. What I especially love is that whilst Ninja does it's magic, I can get on with washing dishes or something else. Not tried the slow cooker yet. I found the buttons ok but still learning how to work it. Ninja seems to make my hob and oven mostly redundant as I am trying to do one pot meals to save on electric and washing up.There is a youtube channel called The Salted Pepper, she has some great tips.0

I have made Chinese chicken curry with noodles for tea tonight, browned the onion and chicken then put the sauce in and mushrooms then set to slow cook for a few hours.
very impressed! The oven has not been on yetLiving the simple life0 -
I bought the 15 in 1 a few weeks ago, but because we have been away from home a lot and caught Covid, I am just getting to grips with it. First thing was stuffed baked apples from recipe book for eating with daily yogurt. Using a basic 4 egg sponge recipe I produced a fab 7" plain Bundt Vic sponge type cake using steam/bake, next time will try just bake - I followed the method from recipe book for carrot cake, needed a little more time so turned it upside down for a few more minutes on bake. OH has requested it again. Few other bits and bobs done and today did PC rice pudding using instructions from one of the Facebook threads. Subscribed to Ninja Cooking Circle (you can enter your particular model to match for recipes) and 14 in 1 and 15 in 1 groups, everyone so kind and helpful.
OH always MW potatoes before air frying too.
Struggling a bid to find containers for smaller quantities for PC as cannot use Pyrex, foil containers are OK though.
Only thing I purchased specifically is a silicon roasting sling from A**zon. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -
Thanks Maddie - I was looking at some silicone accessories to make things easier.
Did a roast chicken and roast potatoes today, was brilliant. XL chicken so fits really well, I could have steamed the veg in the pot too when the chicken was resting but DH didn’t realise and put the steamer pan on!Still no oven on tho - I’m quite looking forward to using it more. I have tried safe options and things have come out brilliant, going to do soup in the PC part of it in a few weeks too.Living the simple life0 -
If you are air frying anything which is usually done in the oven reduced temp by 20 and cooking time by 25% - everything has come out well .I'm still to come to terms with all the features on my Instant Pot !0

Chicken was amazing! XL chicken 65mins - while it was resting the potatoes were in on pressure cook for lovely new potatoes.I’m really happy with my new kitchen price.
I would say if you are wanting something to cook while your out a cheap and cheerful SC is your friend. For cooking instead of using an oven this is a great gadget. I’d I had bought it (it was a gift from a family member) I would have went for a duo one as would have done us (family of four) perfectly well, but this is smashing and I’m a total novice to these things (still checking the manual a LOT!)
it’s a lot of money but m happy with it and would consider a cheaper ninja if this one broke and I had to purchase one.Living the simple life0 -
There are some great FB groups for Ninjas , just search for your model and one or 3 will pop upI just got the AF400 - the dual drawer air fryer. Ive never been big on "gadgets" but this one is a game changer0

I have a Ninja Max Health grill, haven`t used my oven since Christmas, when I bought it, air fries, grills, bakes, roasts, dehydrates, reheats, power saving as cooks in much less time, I have a 15 in 1, it has the separate pressure lid, if I had the new type I would use it more, but seldom use it as like the grill better, I have an instant pot also, which I use in conjunction, while meat and potatoes roasting I steam my other veg. I have 2 slow cookers which I also utilise.Do I need it or just want it.0
