Who makes what

I am looking at replacing white goods and would like to know who now manufactures which names. I used to swear by Hotpoint washing machines but my last one is awful just twists everything up in knots and I understand it is no longer made by them. Is there a site where I can get this information please.

Electrolux: own well over 50 brand names (though not all of them washing machines) Among the more well known ones are AEG, Tricity Bendix, Zanussi. Currently, The Electrolux group also make the John Lewis washing machines.
Candy: own Hoover, Zerowatt and Kelvinator among others.
Merloni: own Ariston, Indesit, New World, Philco, Hotpoint, Creda, Cannon, Philco, GDA, English Electric,Thorn (and many others)

after acquiring the Maytag Corporation in 2006, Whirlpool Corporation became the largest home appliance maker in the world.
Philips sold their half of Whirlpool to the WC some yrs ago.
