Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now light, dry underfoot but cloudy.. Wash load ready to peg out.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was scampi, new potatoes/rice with veg/beans. I had a frozen ready meal from the freezer that needed using up.
Working a bit later than normal today to cover sickness - colleagues dropping like flies at work! It's making it very difficult as we don't have enough staff in a normal scenario.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC. Sounds bad at work for you NMLC, is it Covid they're all off with, I know it's on the up. It's with us for ever now, I think. It's a grey breezy start here, yesterday was quite cool.I didn't go out shopping yesterday, there were a few jobs that needed doing here, So I'll go out this morning.Hope everyone is ok, take care folks.9

Morning folks. It's a splendid start to the day, very bright and sunny. The night was really muggy, I kept waking up and dropping off again until I switched on the big overhead fan to move the air and create a bit of a draught.Yesterday the weather was weird in Glasgow, a bit like a dog's nose - wet and warm. My dental visit was interesting. The dentist took great care to explain why the slight problem I have is happening so we agreed on no action until I'm back from my holiday when it should be resolved naturally. 😀
I tried to get into the Kelvingrove Art Museum (a fabulous place) to see the John Bryne exhibition but the place was mobbed. Not a space in the huge car park and four large coaches disgorging their groups of tourist. I turned away.Today I have a legal appointment to sign some papers. After that I may go to the cinema, Bullet Train is on but it has so-so reviews. It seems a shame to stay indoors even though being hot in the city is not always nice. The final swimming events were thrilling, so many home nations medals and then a great first ever gold for Northern Ireland too. Wonderful stuff. I'm not so much interested in athletics though will keep one eye on it all.Bella - the air tags work really well. I already have one in my backpack, the one I use regularly when away from home. A notification comes through each time I leave it in my car and I can see on the wee map where it is. And now I can 'see' my two cases back at home.Right, the sun is shining and so must I. Happy Thursday to all.11 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC Another lovely start here and thankfully yesterday's ferocious wind has eased. The dead heading might happen today!
Kitchen and bathroom to clean this morning then meeting DD after work to go shopping for buffet and BBQ food for youngest DGD's birthday gathering on Saturday. We are trying the Company Shop first but it's a bit hit and miss these days. If no joy there is a big Tesco next door as back up! She was lucky to get a lot of bread rolls etc ys in Asda t'other day so that's all ready and waiting in her freezer.
I feel a bit more respectable this morning as I finally coloured my hair last night, the grey roots were a disgrace. I've told BFF that when her hair grows back I want to try her wig on to see what I would look like with almost white hair if I stopped colouring mine!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies and fed up. Take care one and all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
A very quick good morning from me, I'm at my aunt's in Chester for a quick visit, drove down yesterday and will return home tonight.
The weather was really warm yesterday but her house was warmer. I struggled to stay awake!
We had fish and chips for tea, I'll do a few more jobs for her before I leave.
Hope you're all well, take care. Xx12 -
Morning. It was cloudy but now it's sunny..Off to the hospital after for a blood test for what I think is hopefully the last infusion on Sunday. My brain stopped processing italian yesterday, I did try to do a few modules but something just wasn't registering, I'll give it another go after though, something may have stuck. Other than that, I have a lazy day planned with some sewing stuff. I have a pair of dungaress but for some reason, they're gathered at the top so when I wear them, I resemble a tellytubby, I mean, I know I'm not exactly slim jim but I'm not that bad...Trouble is, I don't have any more of those metal studs, so either I go and find some, or I hack up the band to add a bit extra so it is flat. And the magpies are going crazy this morning, they're so noisy.TA, sorry about your friends dog, losing a companion is awful. Nels, hope you're pacing yourself..NRA, hope your new road is sunny for you! Take care all, it might be a lovely dayNon me fac calcitrare tuum culi9

Morning all from Mehefinland
Its been a while since I last posted and much has happened in the mehefin household.
Scoobymare had the dreaded colic -but we caught it in time and she pulled through. Vet Bill #1
Sally labrador had a funny turn and had to have the mobile vet out. Nice chap but it turned out another expensive night . Vet Bill#2
The mares are still in lurve and are extremely embarrassing in how they show it-I will leave that to your imagination!
Monday we put new boy in harness and to the vehicle and then disaster!! Something spooked him and he took off at speed and I was unable to get him to stop. He started bucking and has kicked seven bells out of the carriage and me. When we eventually got to stop he had one leg over the shafts so we started to take him out and he took off again. Mrs M got knocked over and has some lovely bruises. He eventually stopped as he got himself stuck in a corner and then promptly fell over. We then had the problem of unhitching him which eventually we managed and disentangled the harness. He got away with a few cuts and was a bit sore. The carriage has bent and mangled shafts, a huge hole in the front mud shield, a bent rein rail and a bent swingletree amognst other things
We thought he may have broken a leg initially but he turned out ok.I decluttered a large amount of skin on my leg when one of his kicks caught me-but I didn't know at first ( adrenaline burst most likely). Leg is now black and blue and swollen considerably, and lost a good chunk of skin about palm of the hand size.
Now at a quandry as to where we go next with him. He was too expensive to be a field ornament, so It will have to be a long and slow rebuild of confidence on both sides.
Ds and the Toxic Troll came Tuesday to go through all the carp he left when he moved out. Lots of stuff for charity and a good pile binned too. They weren't too obnoxious this visit!
DS starts new job next Monday with the nestle knitting grannies.
That's about it for now.
Hugs and spoons as always
Mehefin

Morning all,
Bright and sunny here so I have DS2's washing on the go. He was working last night and then stayed at his gf's as they are going to a theme park today. They are taking the train as a bit too soon to go on a motorway methinks.
Blood results are back - everything normal except my cholesterol needs attention - I have a nurse phone call booked for Monday. Guessing it's bad cholesterol as receptionist said we'd be discussing my diet. Feeling a bit picked on as I follow S!imming World, and rarely have naughty stuff. Before our hols the dentist told me to cut down on my sugar intake - 90% of which is fruit! Can't win. I've completed another e-consult form this morning as need my anxiety symptoms addressing.
Elvis movie was great - can highly recommend. I remember I was on holiday in Brixham, Devon when he died (I was 7) and I visited Graceland in 1996 with my BFF who was working in the US for a year.
Fuelgate continues - charge is now showing twice on my banking app - once as charged and once as pending - couldn't make it up!
More door painting tonight and then kedgeree for tea - yum.
TA - so sad about your friends' dog, they are such a part of the family
Glad you've got some collections sorted Nels, you sound like you're making great progress at DMums
Mehefin - ouch to all the injuries. Hope your new boy settles x
Have a good day everyone

Morning
Back home
Facebook plans didn't turn out. One lady had to go her daughter to a hospital appointment with her daughter and the other one Picking up conservatory furniture said she didn't drive so would have to wait till she had a lift.....er yes! starting to remember why FB is a pain for not much gain
At home I had a huge wasp nest take over a tree in the gardenMy neighbour came round and chopped the tree as much as possible but I think as there's no way I can maintain it at all so may take the hit and get them all chopped down. Really appreciating the help I get both here and at mums by two great neighbours
So lots on today the solicitor (a really cold fish) is becoming a real nag. Sends a request for something one day then nags me the next day that she hasn't received it.
Will be so glad when this is all over I will hibernate in a dark room for quite some time
Have a good day all11
