Poor maintenance caused damage

Hi all, recently visited heathrow terminal 2. Drove into carpark and upon entry a metal grey pipe was insecure/damaged and hanging down did not see any coned off area or warning and drove to the ticket entry barrier where it caught my roof and damaged luckily only the paint.
Dash cam footage saved. Contacted car park control, they sent someone over to me, we went and I showed him the pipe and took photos. Told him to report the matter to whoever is in charge. Few days later managed to email correct department and to no suprise was told to claim off my own insurance. I was also told matter was not reported to management therefore damage could have been done at another time and place and now no longer respond to my emails. I have dashcam footage, photos of the loose pipework and a photo of the representative in the background. I do have solid proof. Is it worth getting a solicitor involved? My own insurance don't really want to know as its not a road traffic accident and happened on private property. Damage can be easily fixed but peed off at their response. Feal like I should not pay drop off fees every time I go but that would open a different can of worms with bloody ukpc parking.

Get costs from a reliable company for repairs and send the Airport that and your other evidence (and a USB stick showing the dashcam footage) attached to a Letter before Claim. Should focus their minds.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:

You did the right thing reporting it to the car park management
Assume that is UKPC. THEY DON'T MANAGE ANYTHING, they are just money collectors.
You need to change your insurance company and make sure you study the T&C's
Your insurance are fobbing you off, making a mockery of comprehensive insurance
When you send your proof to the airport, it will be worthwhile to complain about the parking company as they are not managing the car park1
