Postage issue - the seller is using an alternative courier to the one specified

I would moan at the seller.
Most of the time even if I have stated 1st class signed for on my listing, if its only an extra pound or two for special, I'll upgrade it at my own cost. At least I know it will get there quick and safe! I would never downgrade postage to save money - and I would NEVER use Hermes/Evri no matter how cheap they are - would rather save the hassle of a buyer stating the item was damaged because the box had been thrown over the garden fence, or left in a bin outside!
I would contact the seller and state that the postage on the auction was stated as Special Delivery and that's what you expected (whether it was free or not is irrelevant - the seller should have this factored into their selling costs).
At this point, as its been posted regardless, you can either refuse delivery, just not bother opening the door and let it be returned, or just accept it and live with it......0
