Cheap Energy Club comparison rates are wrong

With EON, fixed rate coming to an end and being moved to EON Energy Plan.

Not got the electric rate yet but EON just advised me of the gas rate of 7.355p kWh.

But cheap energy comparison says its 4.055p kWh.

There's not much point having a coparison tool which uses the wrong rates.

No point using any comparison tool at the moment TBH, best rate is SVT

The current SVT is only valid for another 8 weeks anyway.

Go from the latest SVT prediction/guesswork of 14.5p for gas and 45.6p for electricity, not catering for regional differences.

I'd be very surprised if anyone is keeping comparison tools upto date as they could be out of date the day after!
Also do note that the 7.355p quoted is likely to go up by a significant amount in 8 weeks...

The 'Cheap Energy Club' really does need a renaming.

As all energy suppliers SVT are now the same, and all of them currently only offer a single tariff, it shouldn't be too difficult for the comparison tool to get it right.

Most of the fixed rates that are offered now are only for those who are already a customer of that energy provider so they don't appear on CEC as they aren't open to switchers.

Because they are the same there is nothing to compare here. Would make sense to take the page down for the interim.

Everyone seems to be mssing the point of my post in that the EON EnergyPlan rate on the cheap energy club tool is completely wrong.

The cheap energy club comparison tool therefore provides no useful information.

    Yep have you emailed them?

Eon Next online v18 one year fix for existing customers is potentially the only fix left likely to work out cheaper than the upcoming cap.

Being Eon Next you can probably get them to post date the deal til the end of the month if you call them and backout if you don't fancy it after the Ofgem announcement later this month.
