should I complain?

Hello everyone, just a quick story I thought I'd share. And see what everyone thinks.

I parked my car on a single yellow where the restrictions begin at 8.30am.

I came out about 8.29am to find two wardens on each side of the road, as I was walking to my car I notice one warden run across road to the other one, and both of them stood near my car.

Eyebrows raised I came closer, 8.30 now, to see they'd ticketed the car.

I confronted them, and one of them was explaining how the other is new, and he didn't know, they took the ticket off of the car.

I gave them quiet an earful, and demanded why they thought it correct to ticket me before restrictions began. I made them open up the ticket so I could take a photo, and the time was recorded as 8.23am, 7minutes before restrictions were due to begin!!!

I took a photo of it, and noted down the wardens badge number.

I demanded an apology, but the new guy was saying how I was rude, and how it shouldn't matter because the ticket would have been issued incorrectly.

The old guy, the one that crossed the road to supposedly stop the "new" guy apologized. But not the apparently "new" guy.

I wasn't obnoxious, or rude. I was certainly not abusive. I was a bit loud, but not shouting at the top of my lungs, because even when you know you will win an appeal, why do I have to go through that stress? I'd say my tone was normal angry tone. I didn't swear at them, just to be clear. And I didn't take my phone out to film them, and cause more confrontation. I just wanted an explanation.

I'm not sure where I'm going with this story. Should I complain? And to whom? Council?

This is a real council penalty, or it would have been, not a private one.

There were some workmen on the other side of the road who seemed to have a fun time laughing, at the wardens (I hope hahaha)

Thanks for the reply @Coupon-mad !!

I was thinking all day if I had over reacted.

I will be calling the council and asking for the details you've told me about.

Let us know how it all pans out please.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

    Update:

I called the council. The advisor gave me a generic email to send an email to complain.

She also checked if a PCN had been issued, and it was, but she mentioned "spoilt" against the ticket. But couldn't tell me what it means.

She said do I want the pcn number, I stupidly said no, my point being why should I need it? The ceo's took the pcn away with them.

    This is so wrong.

    Edit: @Umkomaas , yes I will!

Of course you should complain, to your MP nd the local media.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

I don't even know how to contact local media.

I have yet to get around to sending an email. I had another PCN on appeal when this incident happened.

It was on appeal for a while, a lot of back and forth. After this incident, my appeal mysteriously got accepted. I wonder if that had a connection hmmm.

I'm going to write up a complaint this week I hope!
