HSBC and Optima legal

We started our re-mortgage in February, Its now August. L & C were really slow and there portal doesn't work well.
But Optima are beyond shocking, we have been with them since March.
We have been waiting completion date since July, All we get is automatic replies .
I have raised complaint but I have little hope.

Have you tried calling them.

Hopefully complete in time before deal expires.

Optima free legals have been sh*te for a long time now. I've used them twice in the past and they've been atrocious both times, for very simple freehold remortgages.

About free legals, my broker told me she's seen the same over the years and always recommends opting for the cashback (not all banks offer that choice though) and instructing your own fixed price solicitor. It'll still cost you the same (nothing) and in some cases you can even make some money with banks that offer 500 or anything more than 200-250.
