Pre paid funeral plans

Not sure if this is the most relevant forum to mention this but I’ve got a pre paid funeral plan with a difference. I’ve calculated my funeral costs (direct cremation, hall hire, catering for celebration, etc) and deposited this sum in a credit union.  The interest or dividend they pay is minimal but the big bonus is that there is free life insurance worth double your average balance. Net result the insurance pays for my funeral and my family receive the amount I’ve already deposited. Win win as far as I’m concerned.
Most credit unions have similar plans in place with conditions attached, such it only applies to amounts invested prior to age 65.
