British Gas fixed tariffs?

Any advice greatly appreciated. Just had an email from British Gas asking if I want to change from variable to fixed tariff, haven’t got a clue? 2 of us in the house with average use ( if there is such a thing) Thank you.

I am due to come off a BG fix at the end of this month for gas only. I have just gone to a new 1 year fix for electricity, which is reasonably competitive.
But, so far, they have not offered me a fix for gas at any price, even though the leccy fix is available as a dual fuel tariff.
So it seems that the basis on which they are currently offering fixes to existing customers is completely random?
