Morning folks, thanks for starting us off nmlc. The rain eventually tailed off yesterday although high winds whisked in. I took a chance and did a small white wash and got it out on the line. Had to triple peg my knickers and then put another peg on the gusset to weigh them down, otherwise they would just tangle round the rope! I did my tip run and then went to buy peanuts at the country shop but they were out of stock. The rest of the day was spent pottering around until the postie came. He brought me the air tags and holders I'd ordered so I spent some time faffing around setting them up. One for my suitcase, one for my cabin bag, one for my handbag and one for my purse. I want to at least see where my luggage is if it goes walkabout.Today I'm just about to leave for Glasgow. Got a couple of days there doing some business, might even squeeze in a cinema visit, and then going to Newcastle on Saturday to see old friends. For those who are going off on their holidays - I hope that you have a lovely restful time.DP1 - my thoughts are with your little one.Coxy - I'd go back.Happy Wednesday to all.11

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.It turned into a really hot day yesterday, Dgs was able to play outside most of the time. Dgd went to a friend's, so we only had him.Hope you enjoy your holiday DP1, sorry to hear your Dgd may need more surgery.Hope the other holiday makers enjoy themselves, Somerset's lovely Nanny, have a great time.I understand your dilemma Coxy, I thought Floss's idea was a good one, pay over the phone. maybe keep an eye for another day or two to make sure the first transaction hasn't gone through. On the one hand you think, you give them plenty of money, the cost of fuel being what it is, on the other hand if the lady who served you got into trouble for failing to charge you correctly that would be a shame. I imagine all cashiers will have an identifiable login.Did you have a good day yesterday TA, hope you did.Nothing much going on here today, it seems quite warm. I might go to a local shopping centre and have a look round, it's only a short bus journey.Hope everyone has a good day - take care folks10

Morning,
Bit of a grey start here this morning, so hoping it brightens up. Delighted to say that the fuel charge has hit my card account this morning, thank goodness! I was going to go back at lunchtime today if not showing. Just didn't sit well with me, so all good now.
We are off to see the Elvis movie tonight. Haven't been to the cinema for 4 weeks due to holiday and other things on, and we have a limitless account so need to justify it. Dinner will be a quick grilled gammon steak and oven chips.
In other news, DS2 passed his driving test yesterday first time! Cannot tell you what an absolute joke it was trying to get a test at any centre near us. He's been having lessons since June last year but due to the (insert bad word here) booking system it was nigh on impossible to get a test booked. If he hadn't passed it would be at least 6 months to rebook, so we are very relieved! We've upgraded his insurance and he's already been out in his little car.
Hoping all the poorlies are doing okay and hugs to anyone struggling.
Have a good day
Coxy

Morning everyone I’m not at work until 12 I will make bolognase for tonight and I need to pop out for some bananas but other than that a bit of housework will be done and I will be sitting on my bum .DP1 hope your little one is alright she’s been through such a lot bless her Coxy it would have played on my mind when we got married I had to pay for something that was 40 pounds and they only took 40 pence somebody had missed a couple of noughts off I ran them and told them it played on my mind and I was worried someone would get in to trouble because of it and it was a small company my conscience was clear I felt happier.nice and bright here today it can do what it wants as long as we have a nice day two weeks on Saturday for my sons wedding I’m so excited I can’t wait obviously I’m exactly the same weight when I started my diet for this wedding when it was announced 3 years ago so I don’t think I’m going to lose any in less than 3 weeks. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Morning all,It's a bit windy but otherwise bright enough. Plans are fluid today as I'm not sure if the DGC will be here. DH has an Xray booked on his hip later. Pooch was walked early. I was having a shower & could hear her barking , the menfolk were still asleep so I presume one of the neighboorhood cats had the nerve to walk along the front garden wallCoxy glad your payment went through, I stress about things like that too.Well done to DS.Izzy, we have my cousin's son's wedding the week before. I'm sure you'll have a great time. I was practising hair styles yesterday - couldn't decide whether to get it cut before or not, so I washed it and then used tongs to make it curl & then tried pinning it up, then half up , half down. DH's opinion was favourable so I won't get it cut yet. My hairdresser always cuts too much off & then I won't be able to put it up.Does need a colour on though.Salt/pepper marinated chicken breasts for tea, probably with hm wedges for the men, salad for me.The spuds need using up. I might need to make some bread rolls too. All the washing is up to date - that doesn't happen very oftenHave the best day you can x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning
Tried to post a few times this week but always got dragged into doing something else. Beautiful here today in Casa Wigan! Not quite as impressive as where some of you are holidaying but it is my lot atm. Had a reasonable week so far for making a difference on the clearance.
Starting to focus a bit more on the bigger stuff going so have found 2 charities to collect so will start to arrange that next week. Also put a few bits for sale on Facebook ....not much dosh gained as I need quick collection but hey anything's better than nothing. I was due back home tonight but 3 things sold this morning so collection is now tonight so I think I'll have to go tomorrow morning ....sigh
Another big day of clearing today. I am very grateful for mums neighbour who has been helping me out lots.
2 collections booked 1 lady bought a couple of things then a late one for some furniture.
DP1 sorry to hear about little on she puts all our moans into perspective
coxy well done to DS
Gers enjoy your Glasgow gallivanting!
Have a good day all

Morning all, we had light rain from yesterday afternoon till about an hour ago but at last it's starting to brighten and dry up. Good job as we have plans to go over to the van today. I'll take our sleeping bags and pillows and stash them away and Mr Fix It wants to check the tyres etc. I'll be glad when we get on the road on Monday as I'm worn out with all the preps 😂 We used to all do this stuff quite quickly but now it takes us at least twice the time and we have to space the work out over days not hours !
Later I want to defrost the freezer then clean the kitchen floor, two more jobs ticked off my never ending list. I'll leave something out from the freezer for tea too. I'm also going to send in my meter readings for G&E today, then pay my bill, one less thing to worry about.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Take care all
nan xx

Morning..Wood came too early for me to get something propr so in the end just used bits and pieces to wedge it as normal. Postie walked past just as the guy was setting up to dump it on the side and asked how much it was. Cue shock and horror and 'Oh no, I would NEVER pay that, my husbands a builder, he gets all our wood from skips'. Well lady, two things, one, your husband has access to skips, well done him, and two, fine , if you want to burn any old treated wood in your flue and breathe it in as well as knacker it with deposits, all well and good for you. I suppose at least my kindling was free and that reminds me, must chop that up next week or something, weather is too unpredicatable this week. Stirred myself after stacking to clean the car again, it was clean but then it rained, left rain marks and a few spiders had taken up residence. I photogrpahed it and stuck it on Autotrader so hopefully it'll go soon. Jobs today are fetch some euros, italian learning and go for a walk. I made a chuck together last night with some mince, veg, potatoes from the garden and a jar of my passatta from last year [ only two left now!] and some piri piri sauce, plenty for today and maybe tomorrow.Coxy, glad you're happy with your fuel result
and congrats to your son! Gers, good idea re the luggage..Izzy, you'll look lovely in whatever you wear. Nels, sounds like you're well on the way, once the big stuff goes it does feel more like you're getting there..and pace yourself...nanny, I'm confused and intrigued, don't yours just flower all the time anyway ? I just snap off a spike when it's looking a bit ropey and more come along to replace it [mind you, mine are techincally pelargoniums not geraniums]. Or are they hardy geraniums?
Look after yourselves folks, could be a warm one...
