Is this how much it will cost me to run my gas fire?
Hi,
This is our gas fire with it's specifications.
https://www.flames.co.uk/gas-fires/valor-black-beauty-slimline.html
My current gas tariff is 7.280p per kWh.
Is it correct, then to say that to run it at its lowest setting would cost 1.55 x 7.280 = 11.284p per hour and to run it at its highest setting would cost 5.05 x 7.280 = 36.764p per hour? This would seem to make sense but just making sure I have understood it all. Thank you.

I have made a spreadsheet for gas and electricity consumption of various appliances and when the tariff goes up I just have to alter a couple of cells to see how much it will cost me per hour or per minute to run various appliances. Thank you.

In Google sheets
I just had one cell for the unit cost of electricity and one for the gas.
Then a few columns - "appliance", power consumption and price per hour.
The price per hour is simply the unit cost x the power consumption.
I'm not sure if this answers your question?

It's a good idea in a way, but I also feel that if I need to use the heating or the cooker I need to be able to just use it without putting an actual value to it. My sister in law sits with both smart meters on the arm of her chair and shouts at my brother when something starts using energy because she's worried about the cost. No way to live. Millionaires incidently.
