Hi
is there a CC company that will give my (not working) wife a credit card using my DWP & private pension income on her behalf, this is so she can build up her credit viability.

Does she have a bank account in her own name?  Applying via her bank may help.  Otherwise she might be looking at one of those really bad APR cards.  Which doesn't matter if it gets cleared in full each month meaning no interest is every charged.

Other avenue may be a mobile phone contract?

  • It's unlikely someone who isn't working will get a credit card because lenders won't take the risk of not getting repaid (and they have to follow responsible lending rules). Probably safer to start with something like a SIM only mobile deal and build from there. Maybe she can get a job or income stream then think about it
