Hi
Has anyone had an assessment without filling in a pip2 form?
In March i posted a letter asking for a pip claim form as i had to much brain fog to ring up and ask for one,
they sent one out and i filled it in and sent it back and received my pip2 form end of April.
By the time i received the form i had suffered a crash big time (long covid/me) which put me in bed for a couple of months,
when i had "recovered" i gave up on the form and left it in the draw and still couldn't face filling it in when the dwp sent me a reminder,
Today i received a text saying my telephone assessment is next week,i will take the assessment next week and try and tell the assessor
how the classic me/cfs symptoms effect me but without much hope for a positive outcome.
I was just wondering if this had happened to anyone else
Thanks

It's rare but does happen.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.2

A friend of mine had the same thing. I was baffled. They got the form then abandoned it as they found it too difficult. Received the txt and had an assessment and was awarded pip1

If the DWP have noted on their records that someone needs additional help to comply with the PIP claim process or is classed as vulnerable then one of the avenues open to them is to arrange a PIP assessment regardless of whether the PIP2 was returned. The marker that is placed on the claim is normally done after someone phones up to start the claims process and this information is captured on the PIP1 form that is usually completed by the contact centre agent prior to the PIP2 being sent out for completion.4

Oh well that assessment went well on friday,
should of had it at 13.30 still waiting for the call at 15.30,rang them at 16.00,
they looked on their computer and confirmed i hadn't had a call,
i asked if i was going to get one and he said i don't think so they finish assessments at 15.00
and rebooked me for this friday.

Sometimes assessment last longer than they predict, which can affect the people after them. The later in the day your assessment time is, the more chance there is of this happening. Though they should have rang to tell you.

The assessor will normally read your pip 2 and make appropriate notes and from that direct the questions towards your condition and symptoms.
However the assessment can be done without the PIP 2 and this can be for many reasons which they have to take into account.
The assessor should keep the office manager informed of any delays and so as Poppy says calls can be made to claimants to keep them informed. One assessor is expected to complete 4 or 5 assessments a day, but again these do sometimes take longer. Yours may be one of these as they will have no PIP 2.

Hi
Had my telephone assessment over a week ago, don,t know if i get a text from the dwp to say they have received it yet,
She didn't ask me many questions, started with the walking one, when i said on the majority of days i'm to exhausted to leave the house she said could you use aids to help you walk,i told her the pain in my arms and shoulder would prevent me using them she said ok and then didn't ask me anymore questions on walking and never even went to the planning a route question.
The bit that's mystifying me is that 2 days after the assessment i get a letter from the long covid clinic to come in for a ftf
assessment,do anyone think this has anything to do with pip or do you think i'm being paranoid and this is just a coincidence?
Thanks0 -
If DWP have a mobile number for you then they do send texts once the form has been returned but it doesn't always happen. There can sometimes be a delay in returning your file if the assessment report has been chosen for audit. If this has happened, it's nothing to worry about, they are just checking the assessor did their job correctly. The covid clinic will have nothing to do with your PIP claim and it will be just a coincidence that you've been contacted now the assessment has been completed.kippo1 said:never even went to the planning a route question.1

As for the level of questioning, the majority of assessments start with mobility, if your claiming for a specific condition then the question should be focused, some of the activities can be zero'd (deepening on the condition) . The more complexed/multi conditions need further exploration.Proud to have dealt with our debtsStarting debt 2005 £65.7K.
