Composite door problems from day 1, what rights do I have?

I had a composite door fitted back in March, it looked great but within an hour of it being fitted I noticed it wasn’t quite flush to the frame especially in the lower left hand corner

within hours the installer had to come out as the door was so difficult to unlock, he showed me that I needed to push the door in with one hand and turn the lock (it is a thumb turn) with the other in order to open it
i was a bit miffed as I’d paid £2,000 for the door and if I had known it was such a faff to open I probably wouldn’t have bothered
the manufacturer has sent an engineer out (had to wait months for door to settle) and said the door is within the tolerance for them and has recommended the frame be adjusted (I think it requires taking out and reinstalling)
the installer is due to come out tomorrow to take another look (probably his 6th+ visit) but I don’t have much faith it will be sorted and am really coming to the end of my tether with it
my question is what rights do I have here? Is he right in saying that 2 hands are required to open the door or is the door just faulty? Could I argue the door was already faulty from day 1?

It doesn’t stick out quite as much anymore but still have an issue with unlocking also not only is it a bit unsightly but it is also a bit of a health and safety issue as if someone needs to get out quickly they may struggle especially if they have an issue with their hands. Any visitors we have are totally unable to open it without us showing how.
I really don’t want to file a CCJ but it’s starting to look like that way as neither the installer or manufacturer seems to want to take responsibility
Apologies for the long post

Did you pay by credit card? If so, you can raise the issue with them. Make sure you have a copy of all correspondence and evidence to submit for review. I would only recommend taking this route when you believe you’ve exhausted all options to sort it with the retailer/supplier which it sounds like you have.0
