What the OP chooses to do though is up to him.......
and my local delivery office said it's a problem only the delivering DO can sort out...0 -

This will go to the delivery office.
However reality is you/the buyer will need to lodge a claim with RM
In this instance I would say it should be the buyer. Make sure they retain that red card.0 -
The same thing happened with me when I was buying something from an online retailer. For some reason Royal Mail do like to put things in bins (?). I put a full bin out on bin day and when I got home it had been emptied, walked in the door to see a card from RM saying it was in the bin!
I got in touch with the retailer who re-sent the item to me.
I still to this day don't understand how the postie did not realise it was bin day when all bins were out on the street, and it was obvious that it was still to be emptied as it was full.....2 -
One person on one round I cover has a recycle bin specifically for parcels. If there is a note on a door to leave a parcel in the bin I photograph the parcel on the PDA and then the note on my phone including house number and anything else that will identify the property.

Evri's preferred spot is in the front yard behind the smallest plantpot they can find so effectively in full view of the pavement. Which is why if there's a click and collect option, that's what I'm going for.
Only time I ever click to leave in a safe place is on real low value items that I'm willing to take the risk of going missing because if they do go missing, I don't want to be £100 out of pocket as anyone I try to claim against will laugh at me & say your fault.
I've ordered a few things from Amazon lately. I have them delivered to the local PO which is about a 3 minute walk away if i dawdle. Much easier.
There's a difference between realising & caring.williamsl5 said:I still to this day don't understand how the postie did not realise it was bin day when all bins were out on the street, and it was obvious that it was still to be emptied as it was full.....
