Picea Breweriana Cuttings?
Options
Anyone know how to take cutting of a brewiana, we had to cut one down in the back garden after a lightning strike destroyed most of it but wanted to get a cutting and grow one on the front where we have more space!
I heard late summer is the best time to get cuttings but no pictures to show much else in the way of instruction.

I don't know the plant but a very knowledgeable man told me late august September for shrubs and I was very successful sticking to that.

ah, google seems to think it is a weeping spruce.
Sorry don't know about growing tree cuttings
However if it is evergreen, (think only larch isn't) the easy time is to grow cuttings over winter. I've done that with evergreen shrubs. Cuttings pushed in round the edge of a (clay) pot with/without sharp sand or rooting powder. Leave in a sheltered spot. I have done that with hebes, lavender, rosemary & others.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

The problem with cuttings in containers is maintaining the right level of moisture. I root stuff most successfully in a shaded frame where the soil is heavily altered with the addition of grit and sand. I don't need to water much through autumn and winter, which removes the human fallibility element somewhat. When I say 'successfully,' that doesn't imply that everything roots, but probably 3/4 of plants do, some of them taking a year or more.1
