After placing my Tesco order, this morning, I was greeted by a big banner about preparing for Christmas.
Really?It's nearly 5 months from now. :/
No, this isn't praise.

I saw my first Christmas advert a few weeks ago!  It was for one of those pre-dressed trees with the lights etc all on it. Bl00dy dear it was too even with the special price!
Why does Sherlock Holmes love Mexican restaurants? Because they give him case ideas.

I walked round a botanical gardens in Thailand one Christmas Eve.
Listening to 1950's Christmas songs on continual loop with patches where they weren't quite in sync was enough to scare me of Christmas for life.
May you find your sister soon Helli.

Christmas home shopping slots tend to come online around the beginning of September so we've always had reminders around this time of year.
The simplest explanation is stock control.  Stores need people to place that Christmas order in September to make certain they have the right stock and don't over/under stock items.  I can't get excited about it.  It's a system designed to save waste as much as anything else.
