It's frustrating when we spend more than planned, atleast though your husband will be safe in the sun, you cant put a price on that, well you can and it ain't cheap but sun safety is vital.
Hope the gas and electricity isnt too expensive2 -
FlacosFloozie said:Hi Moralpanic and happy new diary!I agree with having a bit of room for fun in the budget. When I was on my DFW journey I found that restricting too much made me fall off the wagon and overspend big time. Allowing a small amount of treat money helped me stay on track and pay things off faster.I feel I should investigate Vinted. I don't tend to spend much on clothes but it does seem like there's some real bargains out there.4

Sorry to read your 'friend' is closed minded or just not educated. sounds like your budget is balancedDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Apparently we’ve got worse as we got older. LadyWithAPlan said:Sorry to read your 'friend' is closed minded or just not educated. sounds like your budget is balancedSpent no money today apart from printer ink. My course is all online and I hate reading the screen so I wastefully print a lot of things out. I’m also having a bit of a wobble about my course so I don’t know what to do.81p gone into savings from the bank account ‘save the change’ thing.3

If I continue to December I can get a post grad certificate so I might stop then and recalibrate. I’ll be honest with you and made an excuse not to go and just said maybe another time but I don’t think I will.2

No money saving this week. Lots of little things have cropped up but I’m taking it as a learning experience for the proper budgeting starting when we’re back on the 20th.2
