Took ticket to open barrier by mistake when I had prepaid for my space

Hi all,
Just wanted to ask if anybody else has been in this position so I know what to expect.

I drove into London last week and parked the car in the underground c/p of a block of flats in St Katherine's Docks.
I had pre paid for my space with "justpark" and they said to enter the access code on their personal keypad at the barrier.
Justpark have some spaces in the car park for their customers.

When I arrived I tried to put the code in the regular keypad for residents as it was the first one I saw, of course it didn't work and I now had some more cars behind me on the ramp so I pressed the button for a ticket to open the barrier.

It was only when pulling the ticket did I see the justpark keypad !!

After parking the car I went back and tried the justpark keypad but it didn't work, maybe it senses there was no car there (?).

When I left I entered the code in the justpark keypad and the exit barrier opened and off I went.

So the question is: Am I liable in any way for the ticket I used to open the barrier?
Will they try and claim it is an unpaid ticket?
I have my email receipt to prove I paid for my space.

As far as I am aware it is not an NCP or any other type of company car park, it just seems to be a residents one, the only sign on the blue P symbol says SKD for St Katherine's Docks.

Thanks for reading and appreciate any thoughts or if you have been in a similar situation.

All you can do is hang on to your proof of payment for the next six years and wait to see what happens.
In the meantime, find out who owns the car park in case you need to contact them later. If you or anyone you know visits the area again, see if they can get photos of the site and signage for you. In addition, see if anything useful shows up on google streetview images.

It may also be worth finding out if marine byelaws still apply to the area as the keeper can't be held liable if that is the case.

Personally, if there is no PPC infesting the site then you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

    Thanks Fruitcake.
I have saved the photos from google streetview of the small parking sign at the pavement in Thomas More St SE1.
There is a camera on the entry and exit ramps but that might be for security.

Looks to me like that worked as it should have, the barrier opened because you had paid. This is why I prefer car parks with tickets and barriers, no risk of getting a PCN - you have to pay the right amount to get out and thereafter there is no arguement.
    .
PPCs don't like them because there is less opportunity for entrapment

Please email your PCN story to watchdog@bbc.co.uk they want to hear about it.
Please then tell us here that you have done so.

    Thanks Mouse007,
I'll keep my fingers crossed and as you say the barrier opened on exit.
You can't leave if you haven't paid.
