Hello again, it's not a bad morning here, it's bright anyway.Yesterday we met up with Ds and family at S Shields, where it was busy, despite the rather uncertain weather. We had a good long walk on the beach, then went for some food, after which we walked again,it was good to see them for a natter, we do Whatsapp frequenrly, but it's nice to see them face to face.I did a few jobs round the house when we got home, then eventually we had a sandwich tea, that was all we needed after the lunchtime meal. Not a lot happening today, I'm hoping to get a towel load in the wm, and get it dry outside.Hope everyone is ok, and also hoping that the holidaymakers have a great time. I know Ruby is going away., and there's someone else I'm sure.Take care today folks.13

Morning folks, thanks for starting us off Scarlet. Today may turn out fine again.Yesterday was bright with a nippy wind keeping the temperatures down. It was so lovely to catch up with Camelot again even if our original plans were slightly scuppered. Still, the small garden centre next door did a mean bacon and egg roll and great coffee. On the way home I dropped into the Inveraray Castle gift shop to pick up a couple of things to take over to Oz. Then I went to another place to buy a couple of wee copper half-gill measures, again to take with me. In days gone by pubs in Scotland sold spirits by gills, usually in quarter-gills though my beloved Dad was partial to a half. He'd have a 'half and a half' which was a half pint of beer and a half gill of whisky, knocking back the spirit first then shaking the final drops of it into his beer. 😀
Later on I watched the football match, well, had half an eye on it. The end of match scenes were wonderful to watch, the real joy coming from the team was fabulous. Then I watched the swimming until late, a couple of shock results there too.
Today will start with doing my end of month / start of the month banking stuff. Not the most riveting of tasks but needs to be done. After that I may have to rest. 😂
I hope that everyone is doing well. Happy holidays to those heading off. And happy Monday to all.12 -
Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Wonder of wonders it's a beautiful day here, just the job for Yorkshire Day! There is a parade in town, followed by lots of festivities, and I have been dithering about going down. But it's such a lovely day I may stay home, get the bedding hung out and do a bit of garden tidying done to take advantage of the sunshine. No doubt the rain will be back tomorrow!!
Our girls did us proud last night and couldn't they teach the lads a lesson! No reckoning to be writhing about on the ground in agony, they just got on with the job. Well done them! And well done our team at the Games, the medals keep on coming.
As expected there were quite a few subs with my shopping yesterday but nothing I couldn't cope with. But crikey I knew I had ordered some extra store cupboard stuff with my clubcard vouchers but didn't realise how much! It took me forever unloading from their crates into mine and an age to get it all away. It saves me lugging stuff home on the bus.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies and fed up. Take care one and all and be safe x

Morning All
Beautiful sunshine this morning, just right for a dip in the loch with DS2's DP. I haven't been over the weekend as I was covered in bites but it's been suggested that I cover myself in baby oil before I go in so I'll give that a try.
Loved watching the swimming yesterday and also the mixed Triathlon, fabulous athletes. Well done to the England football team too, great scenes of them celebrating and fantastic role models.
DS2 and DP are back from their travels, they will be WFH today so I'll go about my business as quietly as I can, must visit the allotment today to pick peas again, the last lot went straight into the freezer. No washing to do, I changed my bed yesterday and everything dried outside after a shaky start, it turned into a beautiful afternoon.
Have a good Monday, take care. XX10 -

Morning everyone
The sun got out yesterday and it was a beautiful afternoon - I sat in the garden reading for ages after little one had gone home.
I was up earlyish this morning - my hair has been dyed, bathroom cleaning and washing machine is chugging away...last load till after my holidays.
Planning on getting my case sorted this morning as I have a free morning.
I'm going down to spend the afternoon with my dad as mam has a hospital appointment 60 miles away. She uses hospital transport so could be gone a while.
Tomorrow morning I have another appointment at the dental lab at Newcastle, then will have little one in the afternoon. Wednesday morning back to mam and dads and then off on holiday at lunchtime... I can't wait! The weather is still very hot in Nuremberg so Thursday's plans are to lie in the sun at the outdoor pool.
Well I need to do my banking...snap Gers.
Hope everyone has a good day x11 -
Morning! Not sunny...I had to resort to the td yesterday because of showers all day, sadly not enough to fill my butts! I spent a while looking round the garden identifying places to put water butts in the future. Got some free compost from someone on a local gardening group so spread that over the front garden, did some more vicious pruning so the bay tree out the back looks more like a tree and less like an overgrown bush, dug up the potatoes [ gave some of those and some rhubarb to the compost lady], moved some stuff around and generally tidied. Lazy weekend, we finally saw Thor, omg, the screaming goats had me in fits. The diet went bye bye this weekend and will start again tomorrow [ golf club lunch today] with added daily excercise...that's the goal, the reality, we'll see. I've run out of my herb mix for meat, and I can't completely remember what I put in it, I know there's rosemary, so some of that is hanging up drying, thyme, garlic, oregano, salt...there's other stuff, hoping it'll come back to me. It's nice on chicken pieces, pork, etc..Normally, anything fried or grilled. Traced and cut out all the pattern pieces ofr the top , finally! so after I get back and nap, next job is find some material I'm happy to mix and match to make it. I have quite a few bits and pieces but unfortunately, I fell victim to ebay and ordered some african fabric for more future playing. I don't have that much fabric anymore, honestly, since the big declutter, I have a lot of upholstery fabric but not dressmaking. Anyway, I will stop with the ramble..Nanny, my condolences, even when expected , it's still shocking. Izzy, glad to see you've booked to go, it'll be lovely to see you having a rest
Ruby, enjoy! NRA, happy pottering and potential future new things. Hugs to anyone who wants them, take care all...

Morning all, as Dad stayed till 8pm yesterday and we had the football on I part watched it while trying to read my book. Well done girls, it's a wonderful achievement.
This morning the wm is on with a mixed wash so I hope it will dry as the sun is out and fingers crossed it will be the last one before hols. I have earmarked today as an ironing day 😣 but I'll do it with lots of breaks as it's my least favourite task. As usual I shall be dithering as to what to take but I'll take most of it to the van on hangers so not much will need to be packed. Mr Fix It has just paid the balance on our hols and he's pencilled in my appointment book for a hair cut later, he looks like a mad professor 😂. I'm looking forward to it now especially as our vanning friends will be there for our first week ( strangely neither of us knew about the other booking till afterwards ) so it will be our first face to face meeting for 3 years.
Tea tonight is a toss up between sweet and sour lo pork stir fry or a Spanish omelette as I seem to have a lots of eggs.
Have a good day everyone.
Take care hugs to all.

This morning I woke to this - a layer of mist right over the sea and estuary, just a bit magical.Well, done all the banking, switched on the DW (so that needs emptying now), filled the bird feeders and sorted out my little backpack for my travels this week. Am having a few days in Glasgow and then the weekend with old friends in Newcastle. Things which were packed for Oz and now repacked for the UK!It's now so fine here yet, no rain but it's certainly nippy outside. I still have hopes.13
