Chase UK switching phones.

Hello

Has anyone switched the chase app from one device to another? If so what's the procedure like?

I'm concerned being app only and no online banking that it will be possible to get locked out of the old device and the new one not registering correctly meaning no access to funds. I had major issues getting it to originally accept my ID.

You would have no more need to submit your ID when your account is already open and active. On the new phone after installing the app just log in to your account with the required credentials. It may be necessary to disable your account in the old phone if Chase don't allow more than one device to be used, but the process should be foolproof and I wouldn't be worried about losing access.

Recently swapped mobiles, and had to provide a copy of the ID as part of the activation on the new mobile.

Note: once completed, the new activation deactivates the installation on the old mobile.
Don't do that first (although not sure if it is even possible), just in case you can't get it working on the new one straight away.

If you have both phones then it is straight forward and you can do it all without needing to contact anyone. If you have lost the original phone before transferring it, you will need to contact Chase customer services to get it migrated. Many have done it and it all seems to work.

Disregard most of my reply then. Hopefully it's easier to submit your ID with your new phone.
Not having a Chase account myself, I was mistakenly assuming the requirements would be no more than those for other app-only accounts.

I swapped a couple of times without needing to do anything more than enter a code sent by SMS. I haven't tried recently though. It is bad news if they push you through identity verification again now.

Some time ago, I switched mine between iPhone and iPad several times. Each time, I only needed a code sent by SMS. Though the Chase help says you need to upload photo ID again. This may be new, or may be the system doesn't enforce the Help text. In any case, it doesn't appear to be massively complicated.
