Amazon electrical item faulty return policy

What a start to a cold day my kettle purchased at Amazon in March 2007 when up like a Roman candle with sparks shooting out of the base.
The manufacturer Hinari state that it should be returned to the seller for repair or replacement, I have spent the last 30 mins trying to find the returns method and any costs associated with its return.

Has anyone had any experience of items being returned within the guarantee period and how did you get on???

I have always been really impressed by Amazon returns, you should get it changed or refunded without any problems.

This is ok if its within the 30 day period its a different matter when its 9 months old there is no way to get a pre paid return label or link to your order and automate the return process.

In those situations it states that you contact customer sevices by email.

Never had a problem returning faulty electrical items to Amazon, they pay return postage, excellent service.

WHS even replaced a kettle for me that was a month our of its guarantee. Top service sent a replacement and collected the faulty one FOC.
