Possible mini break to Liverpool in September

I am considering a mini break by train to Liverpool City Centre for 3 nights in September. I won't have car transport so will be walking around a lot. To see as much as possible, would it be practical to choose a hotel near the Albert Dock or closer to the Centre/Lime St station ? I will probably be staying at Premier Inn or Ibis. Thanks

I'd choose the Albert dock, quieter and nicer scenery. Short walk in to the city centre, main bus station and train stations & the museums etc

Will be £5 in a taxi from lime st to get there or a 15 min walk.

Thanks very much. Just what I needed. Thought that this was probably the case but I have only been to Liverpool once before back in 1983!

I’d research the buses as well because they’re plentiful and very frequent in Liverpool. I believe there’s a Merseybus app too if you have a smart phone but haven’t tried it yet.

    would've . . . could've . . . should've . . .

Also check if LFC are playing at home as this will affect hotel prices

OK. Hadn't thought about that. I haven't yet looked at hotel prices for that week. If they are high, I will revise my plans and visit another time.
