BGas removed ability to submit meter reading on-line

Hello

I was hoping that some fellow BGas electricity users may be able to answer my query before I try getting through to BGas.

My electricity meter is a Liberty 100.  Since transferring to BGas I have always had to submit meter readings.  The last one I last submitted was 2 weeks ago.  I then I had a BGas email a few days later requesting that I submit another meter reading within the next 14 days.

Logging on today, I find that I cannot submit a meter reading anywhere, instead my account details state that BGas can now read my smart meter.

Is this a recent thing?  Why didn't they/couldn't they take readings before?

The Liberty 100 is one of the SMETS1 meters which can be remotely read by the DCC, once they get the necessary settings sent to them.
It sounds as though yours has received the settings and BG are now able to read it.
Do keep an eye on your account, though, as BG's software isn't 100% perfect.

Thank you so much for the quick reply.  Well. I must admit to some degree of trepidation re. BGas reading my meter!

However, I have my spreadsheet and will run my calcs alongside BGas.
