Please also pass on that Scotland is getting 'keeper liability' and proper appeals (same system as in E&W) once we get past the block put up by the money-men. You will no longer be able to ignore private PCNs and should start reading signs very carefully when in retail parks, supermarket or beach car parks, gyms, restaurants, pubs, offices, blocks of flats, etc.
Two Judicial Reviews by the greedy parking industry were filed this year, both about money.
The £50 rate is not guaranteed yet and nor is the ban on the fake add-on 'DRA fee' that funds the gaslighting letters and court claims. Both are back up for discussion, as will be the stupid £130 London level that is clearly unnecessary because none of the industry asked for it.
There now has to be a final Public Consultation (for Scottish drivers to respond to as well).
And then the (English) Govt who are leading the new system will publish an Impact Assessment - and after that, the Code of Practice will have to be laid before Parliament again for 40 days - before we get to the point where this motley crew of ex-clampers and aggressive debt crawlers are regulated.
Please bookmark the top Announcement by MSE_JC and enable email alerts.
You will then know when we post there about the Public Consultation being open. Please can you/your family individually respond to it if you want to support the ban to ban extortionate DRA add-ons and to secure a level of PCN that is proportionate. I think in Scotland that might be £60/£30.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
