Galaxy S8 tab + keyboard slim case - on-screen keyboard?

Asking on behalf of my friend....
There are three magnetic contacts connecting the tablet to the keyboard. The problem is that as soon as the keyboard is connected, the on-screen keyboard becomes unavailable, at least I don't see any means of getting it. This is very annoying, especially if a different language is needed sometimes. Alt+Shift works fine, but you need stickers on the physical keyboard to use it for other language, not to mention problems if number of languages is more than two.
I remember seeing in some video that either or both keyboards can be used simultaneously. Is there anything in settings to enable this?
