Accessable kitchen help

My husband who was also my carer died earlier this month. When everything is settled I will need to adapt our kitchen so that I can at least wash up. I need advice and help finding a reliable business to supply and fit an accessable kitchen. I am confined to an electric wheelchair and paralysed below the waist. I need a lowered sink that I can get my legs and wheels under, and a piece of worktop that I can access. Where can I get help?

I am sorry for your loss. Have you had a visit from an Occupational Therapist? I think you'd arrange via referral from your GP. They may only be able to make you aware of all that is available, but that in itself may be useful.
Be aware that you're going to lose cupboard space ... even more than you have already. I have friends who bought a house which had been adapted: there's no cupboard under the sink, and another lower piece of worktop with nothing underneath.
Your local Age UK may have a list of companies who will do such work, who have had some kind of vetting.Signature removed for peace of mind1 -
Usually the local authority social work service for the occupational therapist. There may be grant funding available for help for some or all of the costs of some adaptations.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.1
