ECO grants / Broken boiler

Hello
Please help me - going around the bend trying to work this out.
My condensing boiler broke down four months ago. I have Boiler insurance with EDF. But they wrote my boiler off and said I needed a new one. They only provide £750 towards a new boiler. And I have to pay for installation.
I looked at the ECO scheme and I qualify - on every level.
I contacted EDF and the company they use D&G will not replace a condensing boiler because govt's ECO scheme does not allow this.
I contacted Octopus (they only deal with their own clients), British Gas (they don't do condensing boilers as part of ECO), and eOn, who don't do it. All say the condensing boiler I have is top rated, and they only replace with lower grade gas boilers....But this is meant to be an ECO scheme and condensing boilers are A efficient category.
I have wasted so much time, and I am getting very worried, as whilst I have been without heating for last four months (hot water is available via an emergency switch which I do not use often as it's very expensive) I need to get boiler sorted out for winter. I can't afford a new boiler, even with the £750 from EDF insurance payment or the subsequent installation costs - because I am poor enough to qualify for the free boiler in the first place.
Any advice? What do I need to do? Please help.
Thank you for reading.

It's always worth checking to see if anybody else has asked a similar question; in your case it happened yesterday: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6375366/boiler-grants
I can't say that things look too hopeful but best of luck.Reed2 -
