Is this identity theft?

Hello
I've just noticed that there are two companies on Companies House are registered under my name (different addresses but same DOB). I have quite a rare name so it would be very unlikely that someone would have the same name and DOB.
I did have a previous instance of someone trying to apply for a bank account with my details a few years ago but I reported to action fraud.
I have my own registered company on beta house (with a forwarding address).
I've checked Experian and doesn't appear to be anything taken out in my name and my cred rating seems stable.
I will be contacting action fraud.
Do I need to do anything else?
Apologies if posted in the wrong section
Thanks

I would say also check your files with the other two CRA's, TU and Equifax to ensure there is nothing on those that you weren't expecting.
If your details have been used to register a limited company it might be worth speaking to Companies House but I am not sure how open they are to investigating things like this. Any credit taken out in the limited company name wouldn't cause you any bother, the only issue would be if your name has been used for a directors guarantee. You might want to research CIFAS registration to see if that would be of use to you.0 -
Thanks for this. Just to check if you register with CIFAS does that automatically reduce your credit rating? Thanks0

No, but it may slow down future credit applications as the CIFAS flag will mean that applications are manually reviewed by lenders before making a decision.0

Sound advice to check also with TransUnion and Equifax.
CIFAS Protective Registration why not look at other more effective and cheaper alternatives?
