Morning all, good job I did all the washing yesterday and got it dry as we have light rain again this morning. Oh and I picked a punnet of blackberries from my blackberry bush which I shall freeze today.
We had some sad news last night that Mr Fix It's lovely cousin Alan had passed away, the first of his generation to go. So the jungle drums were going last night and our phones are red hot again this morning as they are a tight knit family as there are lots of cousins to inform. The funeral is on the 12th and sadly we are away on holiday but we may come back for the day, we're only about 1hr away.
Today I shall be pottering about and sorting some food stuffs to put in our holiday crate as I take most of the dried goods like tea, coffee, sauces and tin beans etc with us. The freezer needs a sort out too and I've got to pull out a joint of meat for tomorrow plus find something for tea.
Yorkslass thanks, but the appointment is such a long time as my GP is on hols this week, then I'm away for the next 2, so it couldn't be helped.
Take care and hugs to all, better make a move I suppose as the DW won't empty itself, shame 🙁

Afternoon all. Like TA, I risk boring everyone to death when I say it's yet another dull and dreary day here with showers forecast at some stage. Still, I don't need to go out anywhere especially so I can entertain myself indoors with "something". What that might be will be dictated by GUAG - or lack of it, as the case may be!
I understand about holidays causing the delay, nanny. Don't fret too much in the meantime (easier said than done, I know) and enjoy your holiday.
This morning we tried a cheap 16p tin of spaghetti hoops on toast for breakfast. Verdict? Not something I'd eat often but they're OK for a quick, easy and cheap meal on the odd occasion. I'll get a couple more for the pantry but next time will probably perk them up a bit by adding some grated cheese on top or maybe stirring in a teaspoon of chilli powder. Lunchtime was equally frugal with toasted crumpets topped with cheese and a few grapes after. Dinner? Hm pea & ham soup, a smoked ham & pickle sandwich, slice of vanilla cheesecake. Tbh, I've felt rather bereft at not being in the kitchen so much today but I'm sure I'll make up for it!
Ex-neighbour and I have arranged to meet up on Thursday for coffee and a catch up so that's something to look forward to. Although she likes where she's moved to, I think she's finding it quite hard to settle and has admitted to looking at moving back here.
NRA - Yes, I'd agree with you the first two to three weeks after leaving work will feel like being on holiday. Once I'd got used to the drop in income I started to enjoy leaving the rat race and soon joined the "I don't know how I found the time to work" band!
Have a good weekend whatever you're doing and take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.7
