Morning folks.
There's been heavy rain overnight, still lots of dense white low-lying clouds which doesn't bode well.
Today I'll finish off clearing out behind the spare bed, then I'm heading up to Oban to collect an order which should have been in on Thursday. When I was waiting for it I got a text to say that it was delayed.
I hope that everyone is doing OK, happy Saturday to all.

Good morning, thanks for starting Gers. It's raining here as well, though yesterday started wet then turned into a really nice day.We had dgs yesterday, he is as lively as ever. He's starting school in September, how the time slips away. Doesn't seem five minutes since he was a toddler. Not much else happened yesterday, I didn't go out apart from nipping to the little Sains up the road for milk , bread and eggs. Some friends came round last night, one of them is moveing to Scotland next week, I'm really going to miss her. We can visit though.I need to do a shop this weekend, will probably go to Aldi today at some point. We are meeting up with Dgs tomorrow, it's his birthday today, so we'll do something, there are various options, we'll see what the weather is like.Hope everyone has a good Saturday, take care folks.12

Morning folks and thanks GERS. At the risk of boring myself, as well as everybody else, we have yet another mizzly start!! And, unlike yesterday when it took up, it's forecast to stay with us for most of the day. I think we have seen the last of summer, although it's keeping mild enough.
After 2 days in solitary I need to get out today and think I might get the bus along the valley bottom to the little town I haven't visited since pre-Covid. I know of two shops that have since closed down so they will no doubt now be charity shops to add to the their growing collection. It's such a shame. All the towns hereabout are like that these days. I know their Home B's is still trading so that's always worth a good browse.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies or fed up. Take care one and all and be safe xx

Morning everyone pouring down here I wonder if we have had summer hope not I managed to book a week away in Northumberland for September 2023 we got it for a decent price and we always pack plenty of food to take with us so it won’t cost us much when we get there we do a lot of walking fingers crossed for good weather I’m still having a look at the fjord cruise I think we have decided on the 7 night June one I’ve got some saving to do but we won’t have been anywhere for 4 years by the time next year comes and I would like to do it I feel like I work hard enough for it i am just sitting down and working a budget out there will have to be cut backs but we have spent a lot on the house since we moved in and there shouldn’t be anything else for a few years . I am making a couple of shepherds pies today one for tonight and one to freeze I seem to have a lot of mince in the freezer and a couple of gooseberry crumbles I got those free and have a few bags in the freezer it’s like winter food in here today while the ovens on I will do some scones I haven’t had my oven on since I bought my air fryer but it will be full today when it goes on .thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing11

We went on a 7 night Fjord cruise earlier this month.

Hi everyone, It's still very quiet here today, we'll be joining L, B and E tomorrow so I need to sort things out today. I need to finish sorting out all my plastic storage containers. I bought a think to keep all the lids in which is great, I just need to find a decent home for all the boxes. I've disposed of most of the mismatched things. I'm on the home straight of a quilt for C and C's baby, I've just got the binding to finish hand sewing. I had been prevaricating about making one because I couldn't find a pattern special enough to make but I just set to in the end and have made a lovely (even though I say so myself) quilt and of course, soon after I started I found the perfect pattern so I shall be starting on that soon. On another note we went into Cambridge on Thursday, we haven't been since last year when we thought it was looking very sad, lots of closed shops and it seemed to have been really affected by the pandemic but this time it seemed much better and the tourists seemed to be out in force. Have a good day.12

Morning All
It's rained all night and still looks overcast, the allotment will be glad of the rain but it will be a bit soggy when I go to pick peas and more of the dreaded courgettes! Must look up a recipe for a courgette pickle.
Fantastic meal out last night at a top Indian restaurant in Glasgow, although quite expensive the food was out of this world, a real treat for DD's birthday. The little one was a star and decided that DS2 is now her best friend!
Hope you have a fabulous holiday Ruby, you deserve it.
Take your time Nelski, these things are tough.
Happy Birthday to your DGS Scarlet.
Your holiday sounds great izzy and you're right, you work very hard so need to treat yourself.
Right, I must go and get a shower and start the day, there are books to take back to the library and a birthday gift to drop off to a friend.
Have a good weekend, take care. XX11 -
Morning everyone,
Lovely and bright start here (sorry to those with less than sunny weather). I am off to FC shortly to see what damage the holiday has done to my weightloss! Neighbours dog (bull mastiff) was in the garden barking his head off at 12.30am - he'd managed to get out of the house whilst neighbour was asleep - must have opposable thumbs?
Will need to rummage in the freezer for something suitable for dinner, and will have the 2-person rhubarb crumble for pud that I froze before the holiday.
Have good days all and hugs to those struggling,

Morning all
Nice day here wall to wall sunshine, im sorry for those of you who have rain. I have a towel wash on the go and it can be hung out later.
Had my waxing done (ouch) so all lovely and smooth for now, got my nails done after and I have a lovely deep red colour on hands and feet so I am all readyI did a lot of my packing last night so just a few bits to go in tomorrow, we are off very early Monday morning flight is at 7 so leaving home at 2.15
Im going to nip to my sisters later, we grew up along side another family and they are visiting today, my two 'cousins' both emigrated to Australia as young men and one of them I have not seen for about 30 years, it will be lovely to see them and bittersweet they were best friends with my brother and got up to all kinds of mischeif as young men, my uncle now has dementia which is really sad as he was such an intelligent funny man, it will be nice to see them all.
BBQ for dinner tonight I will get some meat out after this we will just need to get some veg, I want to try cauliflower on the bbq so will see if we can get some.
Have good days all xxx11 -

Well, I changed my mind about driving up to Oban, I even got in the car drove about half a mile and decided that I just CBA'd today, so I drove round the field and came back home. It's just such a long way for one item and I'm pretty tired. So, back home, I've filled the bird feeders, sent three emails and have settled with a cup of coffee. I've also finished clearing out the books from behind the spare bed, all now in the car ready to be donated. There's a couple of old DVDs of 'Scotch and Wry' which I'm loathe to part with even although I haven't watched them for years and years. At the time Rikki Fulton was so funny and a Hogmanay must-watch in Scotland.I'm glad that some places have sunshine and I'm intrigued by the fjords cruise, must be wonderful.Ruby - how lovely to see old friends, I hope that you all enjoy your time together.12
