Anyone fancy a peaceful protest outside PPMs offices?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I have not seen any public displays of protests of PPCs. Is it not worth organising one outside HoP? I'm sure many, many people will get involved.
Also @Coupon-mad I have another contact who is fighting these people, who is interested in collaborating with me. He was also featured in the Guardian. I was thinking of maybe running a podcast, something like that. Anything to raise public awareness, expose these dispicable mobsters.

I very much like the idea of a protest outside the HoP, but it is a two edged sword. If there are lots of people and media coverage, then great. If it ends up being twenty people and a dog, it probably helps the PPCs.
However, using the power of social media , as well as friends and neighbours, would there be any mileage in starting a petition ( and I think it used to be 100,000 signatures lead to a debate) and linking this to evidence gathering ( newspaper reports, actual evidential statements of bad practice and the impact thereof) and presenting petition and dossier to Parliament/enquiry?The pen is mightier than the sword ..... and I have many pens.1 -
would there be any mileage in starting a petition ( and I think it used to be 100,000 signatures lead to a debate)It's been tried many times, often with authors going off half-c0ck, sometimes with semi-literate wording. Very few have received much more than a relative handful of signatories. The HoP debate has already occurred in the shape of the Sir Greg Knight Private Members Bill, culminating in the Parking (Code of Practice) Act 2019, leading to the (temporarily on hold) new Code of Practice.
That debate (where an almost unprecedented 100% cross-party support was secured) is unlikely to be bettered. It's doubtful a subsequent one would be given Parliamentary time. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

All protests start with one person! 20 person and a dog becomes 200 and so on...think about how many people have been affected by PPCs. Surely enough people to make some noise.Trainerman said:I very much like the idea of a protest outside the HoP, but it is a two edged sword. I admire your determination but a protest outside the HoP probably will not work as this is a country wide problem and people will not travel for a host of reasons, covid, train strikes and worst of all is the foolish London mayor with all his money add-ons to enter London which has made London one of the scam capitals in the worldDownwithPPCs said:Correct me if I'm wrong but I have not seen any public displays of protests of PPCs. I live in Berkshire, some 35 miles away and I will never go to London again. I think it was the CEO of M&S who recently said that Oxford Street was now a morgue ..... you can only scam people for a limited time. Time is up for the private parking scam.
A podcast idea is great but how many will actually see it
We need millions to understand the scam and react to government and the consultation.
With the current Hustlings between Rishi and Liz someone should ask the question .... what would they do to the cull this scam industry ?
It was indeed Sundak who approved Sir Greg Knight's private bill

We must be able to do something. I have started an Instagram page called 'notoprivateparkingfirms' just now. Please could everyone give it a follow and also pass on for others to follow, if I can get enough following I can link the podcast to that to get it out there. Got to try. Please feel free to send any content to the Instagram page and I can put it on there.

Sign up? Like former poster mentioned social media is a good way of getting this issue out there. I'm not a fan of social media either but if it makes a difference it's worth it surely.Trainerman said:What about if you are not on Instagram?1 -
It's this wildcat industry that we must kill off and the old saying "There are many ways to skin a cat" has never been more true.DownwithPPCs said:

The Tory party has the majority of MP's in England
I have already written to my MP who is Tory, explaining that if government allows the public to be scammed by the private parking industry, she has lost my vote and to pass my comments on to the DLUHC and GREG CLARK MP, THE MINISTER.
Curently, there are some 357 active Tory Seats serving some 13.5 MILLION voters
Tory MP'S already know that the next election, whether it's called with a new PM or in 2 years, they will be skating on very fragile ice because of the recent antics
Over just a couple of weeks this forum attracts 1000's, we can see that with the number counts so, it will not be hard work to tell Tory MP's what could happen next

@DownwithPPCs Have you watched last year's Channel 5 documentary with Alex Conran called Parking-The Big Con? It features our very own Coupon-mad and Bargepole.
