What does "Recovery Made? Yes" mean in Car Insurance
Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone could clarify what they think could be happening. So back in November I had a minor incident, no damage to my car but the other car claimed that they sustained some damage to their alloys while trying to avoid the accident and filled a claim against my insurance (Esure). Liability was disputed by both insurance companies and they went back and forth for a few months.
Last time I heard back from Esure was back in January telling me that they were still going back and forth. In March when my insurance came up for renewal it jumped from around £300 to £500 so I assumed I had lost the claim. Today, completely out of the blue I get a text message from Esure telling me that my insurance documents have been updated and they are refunding me £180 (so my premium would have effectively only increased £20 when compared to last year). The claim now appears in the newly issued insurance documents as "Description: Accident / Recovery made? Yes".
I tried to give Esure a call but it's impossible to get through to their claim department, tried all day. I thought it would be quicker just to ask here

They've recovered their costs from the other party.1

And your No Claims Discount has been reinstated.0

As above, but you will still need to declare you had a non fault claim for the next few years when you do your renewals.0

Thanks all, very clear and well pleased with the result, I would have been happy to have split fault/costs 50/50 with the third party.0
