Home Legal Expenses Cover Question

Owing to constant ASB issues in my street having a real detrimental affect on my health, I am seriously considering taking legal action against my Housing Association on the basis the sheer number of issues I have reported which have not been dealt with have had a detrimental affect on my health and the fact I have lost all trust and faith in the HA and feel at risk as a consequence of theirinadequacy. My property is shared ownership, I bought it brand new from the HA.

I have checked my paperwork and I have Legal Expenses cover with my home insurance. It states in the fine print that calling or making a claim will not affect my no claims or my premium on my home insurnace, there are no fees to pay or excesses.

We all know with motor insurance, even if you have protected no claims etc etc, if you have a non-fault claim, your premiums will go up. Will this be the same case if I were to utilise the Legal Services feature of my policy?

Thanks in advance for any help.

The legal services is separate from your home insurance, as it would be it you had it in conjunction with your motor insurance, so does not affect premiums.

No it won’t it’s a seperate add on.
if you’re particularly worried then try to get an email or chat transcript confirming it.

Thank you, it says what I mentioned above both in the booklet I recieved but also online on their site, so fingers crossed, I wouldn't get stung for using it. I have never had cause to, so this is all new to me, but I need to get something resolved as even my local MP is struggling to help.

It’s not clear how the HA are responsible for ASB but I’m sure the solicitor will advise you on that.
presumably the police have been involved?

I shouldn't put too much online, but yes police involved so many times and HA have put both myself and other residents at risk on multiple occasions despite us contacting HA in writing and on phone.
