Dropping off on Zig Zags

Just seen two video clips on TV of high profile celebs being dropped off at court, on a zebra crossings zig zags.
Do the police prosecute these offences?

Saw that myself, but I can't see a copper argueing with the chap that seemed to be the bodyguard.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

    What are "Police"? :)

If there were any, they should as it is a 3 point offence.

    But remember-

One rule for the elites, another for the peasants

No doubt if enough peasants make enough fuss they might reluctantly look at it, like they eventually did with Boris and his parties.

They might if enough people bring it to their attention…
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

It is a rarity, but some do park too close. I recall seeing someone pick up an elderly lady on the crossing itself. Totally the wrong thing to do, but a better reason than being a celeb.
I am assuming the Vardy court case was in London.

No, they simply advise that action may follow.
If you’re thinking about council PCNs, I don’t believe they apply to ped crossing offences.

Parking / stopping on pedestrian crossing zig zags is unusual in that it can be dealt with either by a CEO as a non-endorseable PCN, or by the police as a 3 point/£100 fixed penalty (or prosecution).

If you were unlucky enough to get both the police ticket trumps the council one - one of the grounds for appealing the PCN is "the police are already taking action".

Seen an ambulance parked on zig zags the other day. No one about and ambulance appeared locked up so not sure on how urgent the emergency was but surely it can't be that hard to stop before or after the crossing instead of making it dangerous for pedestrians and other road users alike. There was ample room on the road considering there was nothing else parked on it.

In Cornwall a few years back (Newquay) and 2 pimped Range Rovers park up on the Lifeboat slipway/access road. Assume the one guy
was someone famous (Football) as a fair few guys were all looking and pointing him out to the kids.

I would have send a lorry with a crane/grabber to pick them up and remove them.
