Private Parking Ticket - PCN Euro Car Parks

I got a parking ticket being on "private land" Sainsbury car park in Luton operated by private parking company Euro Car Parks.
It says Notice to Keeper and Parking Charge Notice amount due £70. Then it says "This parking charge is discounted to £40 if paid with in 14 days.
The question is do i have to pay this Parking Charge Notice?
Kindly advice

You need to do two things.1. Get back to Sainsbury's taking receipt for the day (and other proof of regular patronage), see the manager (not Customer Services), complain that one of their customers is being harassed and ask him to get this cancelled for you. Plan A!
2. Read the NEWBIES FAQ Announcement, first post, which maps out how you deal with a private parking charge and includes a template (in blue text) to make the first appeal to the parking firm. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Euro Carparks seem to be managing lots of Pub carparks around our area. Got an unauthorised parking notice through the post dated May 25 (now Aug 25) it was for £170. Remember very well the day because I was getting frustrated entering my car reg into the machine in the pub. 3rd time trying thought I'd done the biz.... However. Thankfully having ate at the pub and paid by card I had evidence via bank statement we were pub customers on the day in question. Took parking notice paperwork and screenshot from statement of pub transaction to the pub and spoke to Landlord. No hesitation, he cancelled the parking notice on his laptop having shown our evidence. No questions asked 👍 Landlord said if we'd paid cash a receipt would also be ok, if not, it would of taken longer due to looking back at transactions for the day in question. By the time I got home had received an email from Euro Carparks confirming cancellation of Parking notice. Note: apparently not all Landlords are helpful and some would not bother looking back through transaction records. So perhaps a calm, polite initial approach may go along way. Hope our experience helps others 😊1
