Morning all, the DGC went home about midday yesterday, I felt quite emotional and the house felt empty, stupid really as they only live 5mins away. Anyway I got off my backside and stripped the spare bed, I washed the bedding and did a towel wash then put it all out on the line and left it overnight, today it's a lovely day today so it should dry well. Mr Fix It uses one of his many sleeping bags ( 🙄 lost count of exactly how many ) so no washing there, but I'll drape that over the patio set for an airing.
I had a text yesterday to make a tel appointment with my GP about my thyroid test too, but because of holidays my appointment is for the 23rd Aug. Hopefully my test has shown it's now not borderline and gone one way or the other, it's been dithering for years.
Today we have to collect Mr Fix It's oncology prescription, it's usually delivered but he wants it in his hand so to speak before we go away because sometimes it gets "lost" between surgery, pharmacy and here. I have to reorder Dad's script today too then run the gauntlet of 50 questions of when it will be delivered 😁
I can't remember who said they liked St Fagans but I live not far from there.
Nels Keep on plodding lovely, great big hugs to you 🧡
Redruby glad you're feeling better, hope your break does you the world of good.
taff blimey when do you take time to breathe 😂 You put me to shame with all you accomplish.
Camelot happy birthday to your DD 🎂
Snoozer gentle hugs to Crystal.
Take care, hugs unlimited to all

Morning all, drying up here now. Didn't get to post yesterday as I was unexpectedly delegated to mind DGS for the morning. Didn't mind at all but it's a good job I wasn't going out as DS dropped him off within 10 mins
, but his DM came to pick him up at 10.30 - he didn't want to go then so she came back at 1.30 as he had a football course in the afternoon. He had fun filling the ice lolly moulds I bought at the weekend, experimenting with different flavours & settled on a mix of 3 different cordials. Didn't taste bad actually
D He got to sample 1 as they had frozen by the time his Mum picked him up. I had a walk in the park once he'd gone. It was really busy with some community scheme for children.
Caught up with next door neighbour , his partner was rushed into hospital & is still quite poorly, long long wait for a bed. Our local paper is reporting waits of over 24 hrs, sounds like mayhemNo cooking last night - DH was meeting his Thursday pub night friends and having a pizza - the new landlords installed a pizza oven at the start of the summer and apparently they are really good. I just had salad. DH collected my meat pack, most now frozen.Glad you're feeling better Ruby, & enjoy your hols, & Gers- not sure when you go. Make the most of the peace Snoozer!Taff my sewing machine has been out & I altered a dress, nothing as exciting as a snazzy top though! Nelski- ongoing thoughts for you -take care all x

Bella and Floss I'll give you a wave as you pass me by ! I can't remember how many times as a child I went to Barry or Porthcawl for the day as they both had good beaches and funfairs, although I only went on the horses merry go round. and the old 1d slot machines. Penarth was more sedate and for old people, suits us well now, although the last time I went we saw a lady fall in the lane by the yacht club and we had to call an ambulance as blood was gushing from her head 🤕 Good job we were both versed in first aid !
Izzy isn't that s0d's law or something, how you get the holiday sorted.
Rosy what would our offspring do without us for childcare emergencies 😁 I still keep thinking I can hear my DGC calling " when's lunch, tea etc or I'm hungry/starving Nan " 🤣
All meds collected this morning and a big queue behind me outside the pharmacy, I was lucky with my timing as they seem extra busy today. It's only small and can really only hold 3 before you spill out the door.
I've had my salad bowl lunch 👼 and I have gone through our holiday clothes. I pulled out a few T. shirts which looked like they'd been in a jumble sale, looks like the messy elf had a good old rummage ! It's a bit it's a bit annoying as they were all washed and ironed after our last hols, anyway I've given them a freshen up wash and they're now out on the line.

Afternoon everyone
Just a quick one from me - I've been looking at pretty places in Nuremberg instead of getting on with my jobs.
DD dropped little one off early this morning and we got the bus to nursery then I called at mam and dads, and did his banking. Will pick her up about 3.30 and bus back home
She asked this morning why I had a pile of clothes on her bedroom floor - I said ready for my holidays next week. 'Can I come with you Granny please?'
I replied 'no I couldn't take your oxygen and your milk on the plane.'
She thought for a minute and then replied ' It's ok I won't go to sleep Granny!'
I'd love to see the expression on eldest DD's face if I turned up with 3 year old niece!

Afternoon all. We woke to drizzle again this morning (what's new?) but the sun has finally shown its face. It's mild out but feeling quite humid.
The usual Friday admin for me and a quick trip to the PO to pay a bit of money into the winter savings pot. I checked out the wild blackberries on my way there but I don't think they'll be ready for picking for a while yet and the crab apples seem to be very small this year. If I can get enough berries for a couple of jars of jam I'll be happy.
I managed to clean the inside of two of the upstairs windows yesterday and was intending to do the others today but haven't got round to it yet. I think it could be a "tomorrow" job.I have to pace myself these days!
Tonight's tea is fishcake and mushy peas. I'm now down to just one box of dried peas so I'll have to add a few tins to my grocery delivery instead. The only place I can get the packets near me is at the dreaded Nisa store and I refuse to pay £1.20 a box. Their prices really are outrageous.Glad to hear you’re feeling much better Ruby. And your pampering day sounds just the job.
Happy decluttering, Gers.
So sorry to hear Crystal may need a C-section, snoozer. But pleased you have water again.
Good that your DF is almost at the end of her treatment, TA. Fingers crossed it’s all been successful.
That’s a long time to wait, nanny. Hopefully good news.
It’s good your bank does security checks Izzy, but why is it always at an inconvenient time? I hope the holiday cottage is still available.
I love Little One’s thinking process dp1 - no flies on that one!
Virtual hugs to anyone needing or wanting them (especially Nels). XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9
