EV charging history
I'm mulling over the idea of getting an BEV.
Just doing some research.
And wondering if it is possible to see the charging history. E.g. how many times the battery has been charged, from what level to what level. The reason being I'm less likely to choose a vehicle that has been regularly charged to near zero % to 100% than one that's, say, been regularly charged from 20-80%
Anyone with knowledge of this?

You won't get that level of detail, but a OBD dongle and app can show you the number of charge cycles and possibly number of rapid charges as well.
I wouldn't get too hung up on it. Ye, the statement that charging up to 80% may improve battery life may be true (although "80%" of the gross battery capacity will depend on each car as to how much net capacity they set), the actual real life effect could be small.
If by charging to 80% means the SOH is 95% rather than 90% after 10yrs say, is that really a difference that makes this behaviour worth it? So much can affect variation in SOH over time I think the isolated effect of something like capping the charge to 80% is not likely to make much discernible difference IMHO.1 -
Would really help to know what models you are considering. Most cars have an app you can use to check the battery health status. There is also the warranty to consider.1

Charging to 100% every so often is good for batteries. As it allows the cells to be balanced. Unbalanced cells can lead to greater heat being generated in the battery. Which is not good for battery health.
