CPP Rose Bowl Car Park, Leeds

Need some help for a good argument back on the POPLA system
This car park is one where they pick your number plate up as you enter. You go off shopping, come back, type in your number plate, they tell you how long you have been in, you pay and get a receipt. You therefore are at their mercy as to how long they think you have been in there for.
I actually went over to the machine, typed in my details, realized this and then went off and came back.
They however only charged me for one hour when i was there 1 hour 35 mins.
They sent me a ticket saying I hadn't paid. I had - showed them their bank statement.
They then came back saying I hadn't paid enough. There literally is no option on their machines to allow you to change it despite what they say
I have appealed to POPLA.
They have come back saying that the machine allows you to put in as many hours to pay as you want which makes no sense at all - why would I offer to pay for 4 hours if I have been there for 10 mins
I know need some blinding appeal information to stick it to them that it is there machine issue and not the parker.
Ironically the following link shows that this is clearly happening to a number of motorists shown on the Parkopedia website such as
Do not use! Used many car parks throughout Leeds with no problems, I'm not stupid, i know how to read and pay appropriately and just like many other reviews I paid, provided proof of ticket when received a letter, still ignored and fined. Choose elsewhere and pay a bit more. Wish I'd seen reviews before parking. Those reviewing saying no problem, don't push your luck and continue to use as I'm sure it'll come, parked here three times until this happened.
Read the reviews and dont use this car park. I paid for a ticket following what the machine told me and also ended up with a £100 fine (reduced to £60 for "goodwill" after appeal!). I park in different places all the time, follow the machine guidance and have never received a ticket before. Will never park here again, cant be trusted.
Anyone free to give me some advice - I have 6 days to appeal

You will probably lose at POPLA as it's not truly independent and not very good either; and you should instead have just complained to the retail park owner/agents.
They can cancel it (still can).
CPP - Car Parking Partnership?
Have they shown POPLA any evidence that:
A - the machine was working properly, and that other drivers managed to pay for more than the default one hour?
B - the machine display actually does enable the driver to change the hours displayed and that this is prominent and clear on the machine screen?
Nope?
That is what you say in your POPLA comments. POPLA is an evidence-based service and you contended in your appeal that the machine and ANPR records of entry clearly calculated the stay at one hour, and nothing was displayed to tell drivers that the burden fell upon them to change the hours that the system displayed, nor how to do that. Having raised this, an appellant expects evidence to rebut it but neither A nor B above is in the evidence pack.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
