I had car accident last year and still not settled although I got my car fixed by my insurance company. The problem is the unsettled claims starts affecting me getting new quotes, which means I can't get car insurance, anyone had the same experience, tell me what to do? The old insurance company is not giving quotes to old and new customers due to technical issues by the way.

An open claim is typically deemed a fault claim and so it may be adverse getting quotes when you have open claims but for Car insurance its not an issue getting insurance elsewhere beyond the increased premiums... naturally if they are fault claims then it makes no difference if they are open or closed. Whilst aggregators ask for the claim amount its for the 1% of insurers and the vast majority dont differentiate between a £1k and £1m claim as its broadly down to luck/bad luck0 -

Outside of that insurance companies can check more and more details of what an insured states is their details and most insurers aren't interested in pointing out that you've had your license for 3 years not the 4 years you've claim and instead will just decline instead. A minority of intermediaries cannot check and so perform manual checks afterwards and their fees for inaccurate info they find is considerable.0 -
