Moved home - what are my options re: energy? Supplier is Octopus.

Same situation here (moved house and it's Octopus Energy). There is no way to even register on their website, because they don't want anybody switching right now, so I had to email them with the details and they added me to their system. I didn't bother fixing because the fix price seemed higher than the predicted October price rise, although I may regret that.I entered my meter readings after a month and I am using less than half what they expect in terms of gas. That's to be expected because I live alone and I'm very frugal, but I've just realised I probably shouldn't have submitted readings. I could have banked a huge amount of gas before the October price rise if I let it use their estimates (although it's a bit legally/morally dodgy, if I'd just done nothing I would have been significantly better off...)0

It wouldn't necessarily help. Octopus (or any other supplier) will normally recalculate their estimated usage values once you eventually submit a real meter reading, and adjust the bill accordingly.zzzt said:..
