Best way to move, and shall I move before carpet is put down?

Bit of a complicated situation, I was given social housing that I have 2 and a half weeks to move to, I am moving from a large 2 bedroom flat to a small 1 bedroom flat.
When I moved here it took 2 journeys with movers using a large van and since then I may of got more items but after throwing out things I don't need and considering I won't be taking a king sized bed, 2 large wardrobes and maybe a dresser unit despite it being a little further away i.e half a mile last time to a mile this time it may take less time.
Last time it took 2 journeys, me helping a little and came to about 2 hours 20 minutes to 2 and a half hours.
However I have a complication, I currently do have carpet down in new place so worried about moving in until its down but that may take at LEAST 2 weeks but that would mean giving myself a few days to move in.
But then, all I would have to move at new place is my computer, bed and tv in bedroom, but the living room I have a large old fashioned tv that takes 2 people to move, computer, a large cest of drawers (though that is on wheels) and 2 sofas to be honest its just the tv that sounds a nightmare.
So is moving into a flat with no carpet and waiting a month or so for carpet a good idea? it will be upstairs so worried about noise too.
New neighbour has offered to help with DIY in the house.

Will there may anywhere in the flat to move the living room furniture to?That will be a problem, I might be able to squeeze everything into the bedroom and hall the only difficult one would be the tvI MIGHT have carpet for one room if I lift up the carpet in one of bedrooms in current flat, it belongs to me but I am not sure if its big enough.0 -
Do you have access to the new place to measure it? If not, does the helpful neighbour have the same flat layout where the could measure the equivalent room for you?Is it really 2 years since you moved into your flat, doesn't seem like that long!Make £2025 in 2025

If there is already carpet that you are happy with then why is there a problem?dekaspace1 said:I currently do have carpet down in new place so worried about moving in until its down but that may take at LEAST 2 weeks but that would mean giving myself a few days to move in.

Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Yeah I meant to say I don't have carpet at new place just those wood pieces in corner with tacks in it.I have been into neighbours property and I think he said 5x4 I can speak to him again and its a identical layout. The carpet at old property is in 2nd bedroom so very rarely used, it still looks brand new, worse case scenario I can lift it and use it for new kitchen and hall but they aren't the important rooms.New neighbour said just to use measuring tape at old place and see carpet size and he can tell me if it fits.0

If you are taking your old carpet with you, make sure the underlay is OK. I took my old carpet and the black rubbery underlay shed everywhere. Good luck in your new home.£216 saved 24 October 20140

Hopefully the underlay is also only 2 years old so it should be fine.Make £2025 in 2025

Consider getting rid of your old tv. They can be expensive to run compared to modern tvs. How many hours per day is it on?

Good point. Unless it has sentimental value. You could probably pick up something free or very cheap on Facebook marketplace that would be more efficient and also take up less space.
